Score Calculation (0-100)

The 0-100 scores displayed on HootFox are derived from our editorial evaluations using the following factors:

  • Frequency of #1 placements across review sources
  • Average ranking position across all sources
  • Relative performance compared to other tools in the same category
  • Source weighting based on review authority and recency

The formula normalizes these factors to produce a score where 95-100 represents industry-leading tools, 85-94 represents excellent tools, and 75-84 represents solid options. Scores below 70 indicate tools that may have significant limitations or are newer to the market.
